Britt

A slide is the least demanding shoe there is, and the Britt is a good one. In wheat suede it has the sort of colour that stops being a decision by the second wearing.

Two crossover straps hold the foot, and the heel stays low enough to walk on properly rather than perch. It is made in soft suede, with a leather version in the range, and lined in leather; the outsole is leather too, which gives it a cleaner finish than a rubber sole would. Made in Italy.

The styling range is genuinely wide. A linen suit at the office takes it seriously, and a loose cotton dress on a Saturday makes it look like a holiday shoe. It carries an outfit from a desk to dinner without a change of footwear, which is the whole argument for owning a plain sandal in a neutral colour.
